Stormy, tight-cut dancehall from Mafio House, Ouragan Riddim rolls out 11 tracks from 11 different voices, with names like Royal Storm on “Your Therapy, ” Tai J on “Wine, ” and X Man on “Mon Meilleur Son” giving the set some of its sharpest moments. The production sits in that 2012 Mafio House pocket that also turned out Walpixx and later Red Monster, so there’s already a house style in play here: punchy, streetwise, and built for selectors who like a bit of motion in the drums. “En La Ria Ce Money” from Fux and “I Pa Taw” from Sinner lean into the tougher side of the riddim, while the whole project keeps its energy clipped and direct. It sits comfortably in the label’s early-2010s dancehall run, where Mafio House was clearly shaping a small but consistent catalogue for the era.
