Operation Radication Overview
In 1993, the Operation Radication Riddim compilation arrived in Jamaica and quickly became part of the year’s reggae scene. The project featured several well-known artists, each bringing their own style to the classic rhythm. Buju Banton, who would later win a Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2011, contributed the energetic track "Burn Baby Burn." Clement Irie appeared with "Them Haffi Run," adding his recognizable voice to the lineup. Nardo Ranks, famous for his earlier hit "Dem a Bleach," delivered "Never Test" on this riddim. Terror Fabulous, known for his popular song "Action" with Nadine Sutherland, performed "Body Test." Tony Rebel, a respected figure in reggae and the artist behind "High Price," also joined the compilation. Wayne Wonder, who would later see international success with "No Letting Go," added the song "Love Will Lead You Back." The production was handled by PENTHOUSE RECORDS, a label founded by Donovan Germain in 1987. Penthouse became known for shaping the sound of 1990s reggae and dancehall, working with many top artists and producing several chart-topping hits.
