Luciano True To The Music

I normally have a throwback section every Thursday where I take you back down memory lane in both the dancehall and reggae genres. This time I bring you back an old sound but not necessarily pulling it out of the archives.

B.U Riddim is the latest production to come out from Stargate Productions. Old School artist Luciano rolls back the years and features as the forerunner on the riddim. ‘True To The Music‘ brings back that reggae sound the world initially fell in love with. The melodies and instruments used bring back that 90s feel, and as he sings he is true to the reggae music.

Jepther McClymont popularly known as Luciano was born in Davyton, Manchester Parish, Jamaica. He is a roots reggae artist who specialises in conscious music. With a fulfilled musical career with 21 studio albums, you cannot doubt his music credentials. Dating back to 1992, Luciano has produced memorable reggae cuts which include tracks like Its Me Again Jah, Stay Away, Never Give Up and Sweep Over My Soul.

The True to The Music video showcases an elderly couple (George and Esmeralda) who go through realistic situations and their love for one another shines through. Their love for song and dance is captured, and their relationship conflicts are showcased with a comedic undertone.

The refreshing video and sound makes for a pleasant song and a getaway from all the dancehall beefs happening. Not having listened to the whole riddim yet but judging from the Messenjah it may definitely be worth your time.
