Out of Jamaica’s 2008 dancehall circuit came the Mosiah Riddim, a compact seven-track set that keeps the focus on three heavy hitters: Vybz Kartel, Tony Matterhorn and Sizzla. The sequencing is straightforward but smart, with each vocal cut appearing first in edit and then raw form, before the riddim closes on Mosiah’s version. Kartel’s “Nuh Tek Check” is the obvious pressure point here, while Sizzla’s “Magazine Full Up” and Matterhorn’s “Breed Again” keep the energy in that mid-2000s street-dance zone. The production credit is listed simply as Various Artists, and the set is built around one instrumental with the vocals alternating between clean and explicit takes. Mosiah Riddim was released in 2008.
