By the time Mirror Talk Riddim landed in 2015, Andy’s Muzik was already working a lane of stripped-back dancehall that leaned on sharp hooks and plainspoken everyman themes, and this set keeps that focus tight. Billy Wonder’s “Tell Me When” and Infamous Fresh’s “I Cry” set the tone, with the latter getting a second pass in “Version 2, ” while Iya Champ’s “Plastic Smile” and The Logical’s “Looking In The Mirror” push the whole thing toward self-check and hard-luck reflection. The title says plenty: this is a riddim about faces, masks, and the gap between how people look and how they move. There’s no wasted motion in the line-up, just eight voices over one cut and a clean instrumental version, which puts it neatly beside Andy’s other mid-2010s dancehall work.
