Mars Riddim finds 3 Kings Music Group in a tougher, more stripped-back dancehall mood than the glossy label-name might suggest, with just five cuts and no filler to hide behind. ChinoMax’s “Do Wah Mi Want Do” is the earworm here, all cheeky swagger and quick-tongued hooks, while Young Kyng and Jahemperor bring a sharper, more determined edge on “Days Dem. ” AmighThaChosen’s “Rich Changes” and Duptimis’ “Nah Give Up” keep the energy steady, but it’s Colossal Rhyme’s “Mama I Love You So” that adds a little heart to the sequence. Released in 2019, the project sits neatly in that period when compact digital riddims were still doing plenty of damage in dancehall.
