Majesty Riddim leans into devotional reggae with a clean, rootsy pulse and a set of singers who treat the same groove like a small church meeting and a street testimony at once. Trinity Records keeps the arrangement steady enough for the message to land, and tracks like St. Matthew The Streetsdisciple’s “Love Is What We Need” and Melvin Banda’s “Jesus Christ Is Coming” give the riddim its strongest lift, while Urnia Sanel and L. Souljah push the spiritual angle in different directions. There’s a nice spread of voices here, from the bilingual turn of “Mi Lobi Joe” to Monty G’s “We Will Fight, ” which keeps the project from settling into one mood. It’s a 2016 juggling, and the closing cut from Faya Dowi leaves it with a final burst of conviction.
