Luxe Riddim – Nuh Response Production

By late 2021, dancehall was deep into the era of lean, digital one-riddim releases, and Luxe Riddim sits neatly in that moment with just four cuts and five voices across the board. Nuh Response Production and Voxgad Music keep the arrangement tight, giving the riddim a stripped, steely pulse rather than loading it up with extra ornament. Kruze 45 and Eloquent DiDon set the tone on “Set Trend, ” while Moneelink’s “Call My Phone” and Rhiya Luna’s “Can’t Recall” push the song set into more flirtatious, phone-call-and-text-message territory before Teesha Rain closes it out with “In Love. ” The whole project runs at a brisk three-minute song length, which keeps the energy clipped and direct; what ties it together is the rigid bass line and a clean, syncopated drum pattern that leaves the vocals plenty of room to cut through.
