Live And Love Riddim – Mafia And Fluxy

“Live And Love” is one of those Mafia and Fluxy sets that leans into warm, vintage reggae muscle rather than trying to chase anything modern; the rhythm has that chunky bass-and-drum sway you’d expect from the duo, with a rootsy pulse that keeps the vocal cuts sitting nicely on top. The line-up is a sweet UK-heavy mix, and the connection between the production and Adele Harley’s “Running to You” is a good example of how cleanly their riddims let a singer breathe, while Macka B’s “Reggae Lives On” and Tippa Irie’s “Rate Me” push the conscious side a little harder. There’s also a nice little extra in the way Mafia and Fluxy tuck in their own “Black Cat” version at the end, almost like a final wink.
