Back in 2005, when dancehall was leaning hard into party-ready rhythms and streetwise one-drop chants, Jonestown Records cut a nine-track set that keeps the energy moving with a dark, liquor-soaked mood and a tight roster of voices. Anthony B’s “Bun Dem” brings the fire early, Vybz Kartel’s “Bossi Gal” gives the riddim its sharpest big-name pull, and the Danny English and Damage pairing on “Why” adds another rough-edged moment to the sequence, while tracks like “Highgrade” and “Weed And Liquor” keep the theme locked in.
