Kingston Heat Riddim – Countree Hype Entertainment

Countree Hype Entertainment came through in 2021 with a sharp, four-artist dancehall set that leans into the harder edge of the modern Kingston sound: stripped-down, pressure-heavy, and built to ride the street rather than the radio. Deep Jahi gets the opening turn on “Intergalactic Gad, ” while Jahvillani, Trance 1Gov and Bammaz add extra heat on “Yuh Nuh See Wi, ” and Shane O’s “The Picture” and Intence’s “AIDS Test” keep the energy moving with different shades of rude-boy attitude. The riddim itself is only nine tracks deep, but the clean/raw pairings give it that promo-era feel, like a focused drop made to push each cut in its own lane. Countree Hype had already been establishing the label since 2017, and this one fits the 2021 run of compact dancehall projects that were all about direct hooks and a bassline with no patience for filler.
