Killa Riddim – Macro Beats

Killa Riddim gets its bite from the contrast between a grimy title and a lineup that leans international, with Million Stylez’s “Frenemy” leading the charge and Gioman, Brusco, Killacat and Boomdabash all taking their shot over Macro Beats’ 2008 production. The cut has that lean, punchy dancehall feel that leaves space for the vocals to jab and tease, and Macro Marco’s version closes it out cleanly with the kind of instrumental run-through DJs could work with straight away. Million Stylez brings the sharpest hook here, but the whole set keeps a nice forward motion without wasting time, six tracks in all, including the version.
