Riddims
Kasa Tika Riddim comes out of Costa Rica’s Spanish-language
dancehall lane, and the sound sits right where modern Caribbean
club energy meets local street flavor. The riddim is driven by a
hard, syncopated bounce with enough space for fast-talking flows,
singjay hooks, and chant-style delivery, which gives it a
distinctly juggling feel rather than a glossy pop-dancehall
polish.
Kasa Tika is the imprint behind the
release, and the project lines up with the label’s recent run of
reggae and dancehall material out of the Central American scene.
Gonin has been one of the name artists tied to the camp, with
releases on the label across the last few years and a presence that
bridges melody and deejay attack. Morrish also feels central here,
especially with “Dancehall de Costa Rica, ” a cut that plants the
whole project firmly in local identity and scene pride. Tapón’s “No
Funciona” brings veteran weight and a sharper, more seasoned
delivery, while Banton’s “Weekend” and Keylor’s “El Maestro” push
the riddim toward party-ready and self-assured territory.
The lineup also includes Moises Marsh on
“Pal Vacilon, ” Ghettox featuring Rize on “Versus, ” BlackStyle on
“Muévete, ” and Cesar JS on “P. I. N. ” Across the board, the
riddim seems designed for direct, crowd-facing songs: terse titles,
punchy phrasing, and hooks that ride the groove without
overcomplicating it. In that sense, Kasa Tika works as a regional
dancehall statement, not just a compilation.
