A taut, mid-tempo dancehall cut with a dark little bounce and room for both swagger and sentiment, the Kalic Riddim lands like one of those early-2000s VP sets that knew how to keep the street side and the radio side in the same pocket. Elephant Man turns “Shizzle My Nizzle” into the obvious spark, all manic chat and quick-fire energy, while Mega Banton’s “Sergeant Brown” keeps the badman posture firmly in view. The rest of the line-up tilts between rough-edged toughness and softer hooks, with 14K’s “Missing You” and the Mad Andrew and Martina duet giving the riddim a more melodic pull, but it’s Elephant Man’s cut that leaves the sharpest mark on the release.
