Kakoo Riddim pulls together a big 14-track spread of singers and deejays, and the lineup tells you straight away this is more of a showcase than a one-artist project. Anthony B opens with “Praise The King, ” Natural Black turns in the bright “Joy And Happiness, ” and Lloyd Brown’s “She Nah Easy” adds a smoother roots touch, while the German-language cuts from Maxim, Nosliw, Slonesta and Rojah Phad Full give the set a cross-border feel that Rootdown Records leaned into hard. The riddim landed in 2010, and it runs like a proper compilation rather than a loose batch of tunes. The sequence moves from conscious reggae to lighter, more playful songs, then circles back with a version cut, which makes the whole thing feel arranged with a clear ear for flow rather than just stacked names.
