Inspirational Riddim – Various Artists

“Inspirational Riddim” leans more toward rootsy uplift than the harder, modern dancehall side that a lot of 2010-era various-artists sets were chasing, and that gives the whole thing a looser, more reflective feel. Andy Livingston’s “What A Woman” and Dan I’s “Your Loving Is The Sweetest” sit nicely against Mc Tropper’s “Look How She Pretty, ” with the four-track lineup keeping the mood tight while the riddim itself carries a warm, straightforward pulse instead of crowding the singers. It’s the kind of cut where the hooky phrasing matters as much as the groove, and Tall Up’s title track “Inspiration” is the clearest nod to the project’s theme. The release lands with four songs in all: Andy Livingston, Dan I, Mc Tropper, and Tall Up.
