The Infahred Riddim carries that mid-2000s roots-reggae pressure: warm bass, a tense skank, and just enough digital edge to keep it moving without tipping into full dancehall heat. Released in 2007, it runs lean with only four cuts, which makes the sequencing feel more deliberate than crowded, and the voices on it pull in different shades of the same mood. Chrisinti eases in with “Falling Sojah, ” Floyd West and Jeremiah add a harder, more urgent turn on “The Skill To Kill, ” and Hyah Slyce keeps things prayerful on “Preserve My Life, ” a tune that fit neatly into the string of riddim work he was building that year. But the one that leaves the deepest mark is Mavado’s “Sadness, ” a track that hangs over the whole set with that rough-edged pain he was carrying so well at the time.
