1985’s In Thing Riddim from Prince Jammy for Jammy’s captures the early digital dancehall shift in sharp, stripped-back form, with Wayne Smith’s In Thing leading the set and Auto Rhythm handling the dub version. Jammy was already deep into the new computerized sound by then, and this release sits right in that era, pairing a tough, minimal groove with one of Smith’s key voices from the mid-’80s run.
