Impact Riddim (2021) – Good Mood Music

Impact Riddim finds Good Mood Music in a mean, compact dancehall mode: five cuts, all locked around Romieikon’s production touch, with each voice pushed against the same hard-edged groove. Romieikon teams with 3 Star on “Bad Since Fame, ” Kyodi on “Silent Violence, ” Flexxx on “World Link Up, ” Chase Cross on “Pull Ova, ” and Fully Bad on “Badness, ” and that last one feels like the sharpest jolt in the set. The whole project keeps the tension high and the arrangements lean, so the rhythm can do the heavy lifting without crowding the vocals. By the time “Badness” closes it out, the riddim has already done its job: terse, gritty, and built for replay.
