I WILL SURVIVE RIDDIM produced by AFRICAN STAR MUSIC 2001
I Will Survive Overview
The I Will Survive Riddim brought together three reggae artists: Capleton, Everton Chambers, and Brown. Capleton is well known in reggae and dancehall for his energetic style and positive messages. His 2002 album "Still Blazin" reached number 7 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Everton Chambers is respected for his roots reggae sound and conscious lyrics. Brown, with his smooth voice, adds a classic touch to this project. Each artist brought their own song to the rhythm. Capleton performed "I Will Survive," Everton Chambers recorded "Jah Is The Light," and Brown also delivered his version of "I Will Survive." These songs show the different styles and voices that reggae can offer, all on the same instrumental backing. The project was produced by AFRICAN STAR MUSIC, a label known for supporting reggae and dancehall artists since the late 1980s. The label was founded by producer Michael "Jah Mikes" Williams and has worked with many Jamaican stars over the years. AFRICAN STAR MUSIC is respected for its roots reggae releases and for helping to keep traditional reggae sounds alive. Released in 2001, the I Will Survive Riddim captured the spirit of classic reggae, while also feeling fresh for its time. The rhythm and songs remain a good example of reggae’s lasting influence.
