I Love Marijuana Riddim – Unknown Label

Built by Linval Thompson and issued in 1978 on an unknown label, I Love Marijuana is a two-track roots set that keeps the focus tight on Thompson himself. The title cut is the best-known tune here, and the flip, Jamaican Colley, rounds out a short release that leans into the same early-’70s Jamaican herb-song tradition. Thompson was already established as a singer and producer by then, and this session helped cement his reputation for sharp, direct reggae recordings.
