I CANT STAND IT RIDDIM produced by PECKINGS RECORDS 2006
I Cant Stand It Overview
Back in 2006, a new reggae riddim was born that captured the sound of the era. The “I Can’t Stand It Riddim” started in the studio with soulful beats and a classic reggae rhythm. The producer behind this project was Peckings Records, a label with deep roots in UK reggae. Peckings Records is known for working with both foundation artists and new voices, and is respected for bringing vintage reggae sounds to modern audiences. The riddim’s journey began with the musicians laying down the main track. Then, dub engineer Gussie P stepped in. Gussie P is well-known for his skill in shaping reggae and dub mixes, and he added his special touch to the riddim, giving it depth and warmth. When it was time for vocals, some of reggae’s best voices joined in. Alton Ellis, known as the “Godfather of Rocksteady” and famous for hits like “I’m Still in Love,” delivered “I Can’t Stand It.” Lady Lex brought her smooth style to “Love Doctor.” Natijah’s “Open The Gate” added fresh energy, while Peter Hunningale, a British reggae favorite with several UK chart entries, sang “In The Ghetto.” Roger Robin, who won Best Reggae Act at the 1998 MOBO Awards, rounded out the set with “Take It Slow.” The riddim became a standout release, blending classic and modern reggae for fans old and new.
