Hot Gal Riddim (2017) – Jareesha Production

A sly, mid-2010s dancehall set, Hot Gal Riddim from Jareesha Production leans on a compact 12-track line-up with 11 different voices, so the energy shifts from tune to tune without losing that party-minded pull. Beres Brown’s “Quarrel, ” Brams’ “Mi Grateful, ” and Ganggoolie’s “Money Mi A Pree” sketch out the range early, while Jareesha steps in with the title cut and the instrumental tucked at the end. There’s a nice tension in the sequence too, from Nauvax’s “Wine Fi Nauvax” and Ras Oneilly’s “No Stopping” to The Specialist doing double duty on “Cute Suh” and its explicit version, which gives the riddim a little extra bite. The final word lands with Stach’s “Done Wi Di Game, ” a sharp closer that leaves the pattern feeling more like a shout than a fade-out.
