Hot Gal Riddim (2010) – Bizzari Records

Hot Gal Riddim gathers eight cuts around one Bizzari Records instrumental, and the lineup is nicely spread across Europe’s reggae circle, with G Ras and Riddim Colony, Million Stylez, Lion D, Miss Linda, and Ras Tewelde among the names carrying it. Bizzari’s own notes point to the riddim coming out of Modena and being tied to Riddim Colony, which fits the project’s slightly continental feel: this isn’t a straight Kingston pattern so much as a Euro-dancehall session with clear tune-up and live-band muscle behind it. The vocal selections keep the energy pointed toward party talk and flirtation, while the title cut and Million Stylez’s “Depend Pon Dem” give the set its sharpest edges. The production leans on a tight skank, a rolling bassline, and a brisk, mid-tempo bounce that leaves the singers room to ride the groove without crowding it.
