HOLOCAUST RIDDIM produced by DAMAGE MUSIQ 2018
Holocaust Overview
The creation of Holocaust Riddim started in the studio with a strong focus on sound system culture. The team wanted a riddim that would hit hard at dances and bring out the best in each artist. The arranger behind the project aimed for a bashment vibe, combining energetic drum patterns with catchy melodies. This direction helped each song stand out while still fitting together on the same riddim. DAMAGE MUSIQ, the producer of the project, is known for his sharp ear and ability to spot new talent. He runs the Damage Musiq label, which has produced several big dancehall tracks over the years. His work has attracted millions of streams and attention from fans worldwide, making him a respected name in the dancehall scene. Each artist on Holocaust Riddim brought their own style. Demarco delivered "Right Now," a track full of confidence and sharp lyrics. Destiny Sparta and Renee 630 teamed up for "Defend Mi Cock," showing off their chemistry and bold voices. Jah Vinci’s "Laugh & Kill Dem" is a powerful song with strong melodies, while Jahmiel tackled real-life struggles in "The System." Shatta Wale, a major figure from Ghana, added an international touch with "Man Like Me." Teejay’s ".40" and Tommy Lee Sparta’s "Some Life" brought even more energy to the project. Jamal’s "No Bully" added a message of strength, and the instrumental "Holocaust Riddim" by Damage Musiq tied everything together. This sound system cut remains a key moment in dancehall history, giving several artists their big break and showing the power of creative collaboration in the studio.
