Hit Song Riddim (2002) – Notorious

In the 2002 Jamaican dancehall run, Notorious kept this one tight and focused: Hit Song Riddim only carries two cuts, with Sanchez leading the charge on “Hit Song” and Shabana answering with “Love Me All Night. ” The riddim itself sits in that early-2000s groove where the bassline is firm, the drums move with a little spring, and the whole thing feels made for a compact 7-inch single rather than a crowded compilation. Sanchez is the obvious anchor here, and his tune has the more familiar pull, but Shabana’s side adds a smoother, more romantic touch that keeps the record from feeling one-note.
