Higher Ground Riddim comes in as a lean little 2002 roots set, just three cuts deep but carrying the kind of serious steppers energy that lets the vocals do the talking. Anthony B turns “Make Me A Criminal” into a sharp complaint about pressure and profiling, while Luciano’s “Problem In Our Mind” leans more meditative, his voice sitting easy over the groove and pushing the consciousness angle a little further. The version closes it out without a lot of fuss, which suits a riddim this spare.
