Goldmine Riddim 2009
Goldmine Overview
In 2009, a new reggae rhythm project began to take shape, guided by the vision of a roots selector who wanted to capture the classic energy of Jamaican music. The project was built on a strong, jazzy reggae rhythm that felt both modern and deeply rooted in tradition. The team carefully chose each artist to bring out the best in the rhythm, making sure every track had its own unique voice. From the start, the project attracted respected names. Wicka Man brought his lively style to "Buss The Square," giving the riddim a bold opening. Buju Banton, known worldwide for songs like "Destiny" and his Grammy-winning album "Before the Dawn," delivered the heartfelt "Buy Love." Gramps from Morgan Heritage, a group that won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2016, added his soulful touch with "Higher In Love." Each artist added their own story and strength to the project. New Kids joined in with the energetic "Hot Gal Sum N," while Gyptian, who would later find international fame with "Hold Yuh," contributed "Money Man." Delly Ranx, Benjamin, and the instrumental "Goldmine Riddim" version completed the lineup, giving fans a full experience of the rhythm’s possibilities. When the project was released, it quickly became a favorite at parties and in sound system sessions. Even in 2019, fans still played it as a roots memory, celebrating the powerful foundation it created for reggae music. The Goldmine Riddim stands as a lasting example of strong reggae collaboration and timeless sound.
