Goat-skin pulse. Imperial Entertainment’s 2008 soca cut rides on a lean six-track frame, and the whole thing has that rough, carnival-night shove you’d expect from a title like this. Kage’s “Stamina” and Kuba Dazz’s “Dirty” sit nicely against the sharper turn of Trizum, Marcus Mell and Madeo on “Clear The Way, ” where the vocals ride the beat with a touch more urgency and call-and-response heat. The production keeps the groove moving without crowding the singers, which is why the louder hooks land cleanly instead of getting lost in the mix. Zee1’s “Again” adds a sweeter edge before Mario Castle closes it out with “They Lie, ” a small but firm finish.
