Flammable Riddim – Shortboss Muzik

Flammable Riddim landed in 2014 through Shortboss Muzik, a dancehall juggling that keeps the cast tight and the energy hotter than the title suggests. The set is led by Vybz Kartel’s “Ignite The World, ” with Pg 13 on “Hero” and Slimatic on “Love You. ” It was issued as a three-track riddim release, and the version that has circulated since keeps the spotlight on the songs rather than on any excess frills.

The production feels sharp and compact, with a rolling bashment pulse, bright synth flashes and a clipped, percussive bounce that leaves room for each singer to punch through the rhythm. Kartel sounds most at home on the set, turning “Ignite The World” into a sly, confident burner with his usual mix of melody and patter. Pg 13 pushes “Hero” with a more earnest, anthem-style delivery, while Slimatic uses “Love You” to soften the edges and bring a smoother lovers’ angle to the same bed.
