First Flight Riddim – DJ Dotcom Records

Halfway between a throwback dancehall juggernaut and a quick three-cut showcase, First Flight Riddim keeps things lean: Kiprich’s “Mi Nuh Rate (Pagan Friend)” brings the sharper edge, while Nature’s “Aliens” leans into the more playful side of the cut. DJ Dotcom Records kept the whole thing to just two vocal tracks and an instrumental, which leaves the riddim itself to do most of the talking. It’s a 2015 release, and you can hear that mid-2010s digital energy in the stripped-down pulse and the no-frills arrangement. The title track closes it out as “First Flight - Instrumental, ” and that final version says plenty about the project’s purpose: short, direct, and built to let the riddim carry the weight.
