Feel Good Riddim (2018) – Bright Beam Music

Five cuts is all this one needs to make its point, and the pairing of Leroy Sibbles and Marcia Griffiths gives Feel Good Riddim its weight before a note even lands. Bright Beam Music keeps the arrangement rooted in warm, live-sounding reggae with a deep bassline and a easy swing rather than anything flashy, so the singers can lean into the groove instead of fighting it. Sibbles’ own “On My Own” and Griffiths’ “I Cried” feel like the anchors here, while Anthony Cruz and Lukie D keep the mood in that same sweet, reflective pocket. The set closes with Sagitarr’s “Acappella, ” a neat final turn that strips things back and leaves the riddim’s shape hanging in the air.
