E.O.S. Riddim – Fox Fuse

Fox Fuse leans into a bright, fast-moving soca groove here, with the kind of cheeky, carnival-ready bounce that keeps the percussion snapping and the hooks moving. E. O. S. — short for “The Element of Surprise” — arrived in 2018 as a seven-song set, and the lineup keeps the focus on sharp, playful titles rather than star power alone: Brother B’s “The Real One, ” Valene Nedd’s “Big Tune, ” and Kennedy Mapp’s “Big Rags” set the tone, while Mandella Linkz goes straight for the waistline with “Bumpa Accident. ” The lone feature, “Whole Team, ” pairs Luni Spark and Electrify with Lavaman, whose presence gives the project its most obvious pull. In a year when soca productions were getting leaner and more digital, this one kept the energy tight and the vibe pointed straight at road-mass movement.
