Entry Riddim – Ital Block Records

Entry Riddim keeps it lean: just two cuts from 2005, with Gyptian’s “Mama Africa” and Steve Tulloch’s “Emergency” riding the same Ital Block groove. That small format gives the riddim a stripped, almost single-minded feel, with no filler and no long run of extra voices to soften the edges. Gyptian’s tune is the better-known name here, but Tulloch’s track is the kind of straightforward roots reggae selection that tells you exactly what this project was after. Ital Block Records kept the packaging tight, and the release sits in the 2005 reggae section as a brief two-track set.
