“Forever Love” is the cut that anchors this little 1981 Dread at the Controls set, with The Ovationz carrying the sweeter side of Mikey Dread’s production style while Sunshine’s “The Girl I Love” keeps the same rootsy, late-night glow. That pairing feels very DATC: clean, dub-wise space around the rhythm, but still warm enough for the singers to lean into the romance without losing the weight. Mikey Dread had already made Dread at the Controls a recognizable banner by then, and you can hear that radio-to-studio identity in the way the two tracks sit together, concise and direct. Only two songs, but the label stamp and the tough, unflashy mood do the talking.
