Dozey Riddim – DJ Djoka – Kontor Germany

Down in the French Caribbean dancehall circuit, DJ Djoka’s Dozey Riddim lands with that sharp, compact energy he’s been pushing through his mixes and one-riddim projects for a while. The set arrived in late 2018 and runs deep, with names like Tiwony, Mighty Ki La, and Manzel KPT cutting through the tracklist, while songs such as “Manzel Good, ” “Vorace, ” and “Bay Bwa” keep the pace lean and militant. The riddim sits in that modern European-Francophone dancehall pocket: crisp drums, plenty of pressure in the low end, and room for each voice to throw its own angle without the production getting crowded. DJ Djoka even closes the circle with an instrumental, which underlines how much of the project is about the riddim itself, not just the artists riding it. It sits neatly alongside his other shatta-minded work out of Kontor Germany.
