Door Peep Riddim produced by Supreme 1970-1997
Door Peep Overview
The reggae track base for this project came together in the studio with a deep focus on roots sounds. Musicians and engineers worked closely to create a strong, conscious rhythm. The creative direction was led by a roots craftsman who wanted to keep the music close to its foundation. The producer, Supreme, played a key role. Supreme, active since the 1970s, is known for guiding many reggae projects and for his work with the Supreme label, which has released several influential tracks. Augustus Pablo brought his signature melodica to the track "Minstrel (2)" and also delivered "Minstrel Dub." Pablo is famous for his 1976 album "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown," a classic in reggae and dub. Burning Spear contributed with "Door Peep Shall Not Enter." Burning Spear is one of reggae’s most respected voices and won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2000 for "Calling Rastafari." Prince Jazzbo added "Imperial I" to the mix. Jazzbo is known for his work with producer Coxsone Dodd and for his unique deejay style. Yami Bolo Ruffy Tuffy performed "Door Peep." Yami Bolo has worked with artists like Damian Marley and is recognized for his soulful voice. This 1997 reggae track base stood out for its conscious sound and strong performances from each artist.
