Kholtan Entertainment’s Distraction Riddim landed in 2023 as a straight dancehall juggling, with Kholtan working alongside Warning Records and Ma. Hrs. The project sits in that modern Jamaican lane where one hard-edged instrumental gets voiced by a spread of names, and the result is less about a single anthem than the way different artists bend the same pattern to their own angle.

Stylo G’s “Distraction” is the cut that gives the whole thing its clearest hook. Born in Spanish Town and long based in the UK, he has spent years moving between Jamaican dancehall energy and crossover club pressure, and that comes through here in the way he rides a tune meant for both street selectors and online replay. The riddim itself has a lean, contemporary bounce, with enough space in the drums and bass for fast-talking flows, warning shots, and more melodic hooks to sit comfortably on top.

The rest of the lineup keeps the mood firmly in dancehall’s current-day war-and-vice territory. Quada, who has become one of the sharper young voices out of Jamaica, brings that clipped, urgent delivery he’s known for. Shane O adds his familiar raw edge, while Laden and Lawdgad keep the lyrical pressure pointed at survival, image, and badmind. Topmann, Tatik, Birdman Jr1ne, Iceberg, Jubby Child, and Rudelink all add to the juggling’s sense of movement, with Rudelink appearing twice, which helps underline how much mileage the rhythm has.
