Di Sunday Riddim – Power Jay

By 2021, soca out of Saint Vincent was leaning hard into short, straight-to-the-point riddim projects, and Di Sunday fits that moment neatly with its compact five-track run and clear local flavour. Power Jay keeps the pace brisk, but the energy is more party-lime than carnival bombast, with Grabba Finesse’s “Tek Um, ” Jace’s “Hide and Wine, ” and Shattah Ayow’s “Dig Een Dey” each sitting in their own lane over the same bright framework. The release was put out under Greatness Inevitable Records, which helps explain the tidy, no-frills presentation. What gives it shape is the sequencing: three vocals up front, Power Jay’s instrumental dropped in the middle like a reset, then Shattah Ayow closing things out, so the producer is clearly thinking about how the riddim breathes as a set rather than just stacking songs.
