Determination Riddim – Humal 52

A lean, rootsy two-cut piece, Determination Riddim keeps its focus tight with Admiral Tibet’s “My Determination” and Junior Kelly’s “Bun Dung Rome, ” two voices that know how to ride a serious head-nod groove without crowding it. The set feels very much in step with the early-2000s conscious reggae wave: Admiral Tibet brings that seasoned firmness, while Junior Kelly leans into the militant uplift that made him such a steady presence around that time. Humal 52’s production doesn’t try to overdecorate the thing, which is part of the appeal; it sits closer to the stripped, message-first approach heard on their earlier Humal work than to anything flashy or crossover-minded.
