Flyweh Records’ Demon Yard Riddim lands in that early-2021 run of dancehall projects with a dark, streetwise edge, pairing eight cuts around a tense, minor-key pulse that leaves room for attitude and hooks. Kolumbo’s “Can’t Stop Me” feels like the natural anchor here, while Jamaican English’s “Demon Yard” and Dyllano’s “Dead Demon” lean into the riddim’s hard, menacing mood, with the whole set kept tight at eight tracks and just under half an hour. It’s the sort of compilation where the voice of each artist matters, but the beat itself does a lot of the talking, pushing the songs forward with a lean, nighttime energy.
