Rough-edged and terse, Dem Nuh Real Riddim keeps to a three-cut dancehall setup, with Blacklibra, Platnum, and Jim Grades all riding Getdem Records’ production in lean fashion. Blacklibra’s title track sets the mood with that distrustful, streetwise pull, while Platnum’s “Hot Like” and Jim Grades’ “Money Man A Mek” keep the energy tight and direct rather than overworked. The whole thing lands at just under three minutes a tune, so there’s no room for filler, only quick hits and blunt talk. Coming in 2021, it feels like part of Getdem’s run of no-nonsense, small-cast riddims: compact, voice-led, and aimed squarely at the dance rather than the showcase.
