DASH OUT RIDDIM produced by DJ FRASS RECORDS 2011
Dash Out Overview
In 2011, the island sound was everywhere, and “Dash Out Riddim” fit perfectly into the year’s Carnival celebrations. The steelpan and upbeat soca rhythms matched the energy of masquerade bands and street parades. This riddim became a favorite for fans who wanted to dance and celebrate the season. The project was led by DJ Frass, a producer known for his sharp ear and ability to bring artists together. DJ Frass is the founder of DJ Frass Records, a label that has produced hits for many top Jamaican acts. He is respected for his work on other popular riddims and for helping to shape the sound of modern dancehall. On “Dash Out Riddim,” Cecile delivers “Yuh Wicked Enn,” adding her signature style. Cecile is recognized for her hit “Can You Do the Work” with Sean Paul, and her confident voice stands out on this track. Charly Blacks brings energy with “Gimmie Some.” He later became known worldwide for “Party Animal,” but here, he shows his early dancehall roots. Demarco’s “A Dah Wine Deh” is another highlight; Demarco is famous for songs like “I Love My Life,” and his catchy hooks shine again. DJ Frass himself is credited for the riddim’s production, while Lady Saw adds attitude with “Ina Yuh Bed.” Lady Saw, known as the “Queen of Dancehall,” won a Grammy for her work on “Underneath It All” with No Doubt. Together, these artists made “Dash Out Riddim” a true Carnival anthem in 2011.
