Danger Riddim (2003) – Charm Records

Charm Records keeps this one tight and to the point: a 2003 reggae riddim with just three cuts, no filler, and a clear focus on voice over excess. Nataasha and Savana’s “Why U Wanna” opens the set with a smooth, questioning edge, while Rasites return twice, first on “Danger In Your Eyes” and then on the stripped-back “Danger Version, ” which lets the rhythm breathe on its own terms. With only three tracks, the project leans more intimate than sprawling, and that works in its favor, especially because Charm Records were already building a busy early-2000s catalog around these roots-minded productions. The strongest pull here is Rasites’ “Danger In Your Eyes, ” which gives the riddim its sharpest lift and leaves the final word hanging in the right place.
