CROP OVER RIDDIM produced by DJ SKY RECORDS 2015
Crop Over Overview
Soca music has always been about energy and celebration, and in 2015, one producer helped bring a new anthem to the carnival scene. DJ SKY RECORDS, known for working with rising and established soca acts, released the Crop Over Riddim. DJ SKY RECORDS has built a name in Caribbean music, producing tracks that get regular play at festivals and parties. With the Crop Over Riddim, the label gave DJs a strong base for carnival trucks and dancefloors. The project brought together some of soca’s most exciting voices. Alison Hinds, often called the Queen of Soca, delivered "Water Proof" on this riddim. Hinds is famous worldwide for her hit "Roll It Gal," which made her a household name in soca music. Flipo joined with "Close To Me," adding his own style. Flipo is known for his breakout single "Doh Tell Meh Dat," which became a big carnival hit in Trinidad and Tobago. Easy brought the party vibes with his song "Party," while Ganggoolie added "She Nah Lef Me." Ganggoolie is a Jamaican artist who first got attention with his dancehall track "Muscle Wine." Propa Fade contributed "Spontaneous," adding even more energy to the mix. Other artists like Masta Jay with "What A Party" and Sky with "Wine & Bend Ova" also featured on the riddim, making it a full carnival package. Looking back, the Crop Over Riddim from DJ SKY RECORDS was a true anthem for 2015, giving DJs and fans a soundtrack for the road.
