By 2004, Count C was already leaning into that tough, pared-back reggae feel: a steady one-drop pulse, lean bassline and enough room for the voices to carry the tune without clutter. Elijah Prophet opens with “Shotta Cease” in a stricter, streetwise mode, while Hopeton James’ “Grandma Grandpa” brings a warmer, more reflective touch before Rimhead’s “Chat Bout” turns the pressure back up. Turbulence’s “Youre So Lovely” is the cut that loosens the mood a little, with melody doing more of the work than aggression. The set closes on Vcr Aka Black Talent’s “Viagra, ” a cheekier final note that leaves the riddim feeling less like a full compilation than a quick snapshot of early-2000s roots and lovers energy.
