Cool Vybes Riddim – Jandg Records

Cool Vybes Riddim lands in that early-2010s roots-reggae pocket where the groove stays warm and steady, letting the singers carry the message rather than crowding them with too much flash. Jandg Records lined up seven cuts here, and the strongest pull comes from Luciano’s “Equal Rights and Justice” and Little Hero’s “Nuh Gun Man, ” both of them sitting nicely beside Craiggis’ “Ghetto Life” and the more uplift-minded “Sky Is The Limit” from Diamond. The production keeps a clean, almost laid-back pulse underneath it all, which suits the conscious themes and gives the vocals plenty of room to breathe. Released in 2011, the riddim runs through Craiggis, Inspecta, Little Hero, Luciano, Diamond, Prema and Tranquility, seven tracks in all.
