Cool Riddim produced by Penthouse Records 2025
Cool Overview
Dancehall fans are getting fresh energy from a new bashment collection featuring some of the genre’s most respected voices. Cutty Ranks, known for his classic track “Limb By Limb,” delivers a hard-hitting song called “Cool.” Tiger, famous for his unique voice and hits like “When,” steps up with “Frenemy.” Junie Ranks, celebrated for her strong presence in the 1990s, adds her fire with “Gun Muma.” Tony Rebel, who made history as the first reggae artist signed to Columbia Records, brings “Hold Two Gun.” Supervisor’s “Mr. Death” rounds out the main lineup, each artist bringing their own style and energy. The bashment flow on this release is tight and exciting, built around a driving riddim that keeps dancers moving. Penthouse Records, the legendary label founded by Donovan Germain in 1987, is behind the production. Penthouse is known for helping launch the careers of Buju Banton and Wayne Wonder, and their experience shows in the crisp, modern sound of this project. With 2025 in full swing, this dancehall set stands out as a certified bashment anthem. The collection also features Apache Scratchie with “Poison Dart,” Mad Cobra on “Red Light,” Johnny P’s “Road Side Talk,” Lady Shabba’s “Think Good,” and Gospel Fish’s “Warmonger.” Each track adds a different flavor, giving selectors plenty of options for dancehall nights. The Cool Riddim proves that classic voices and fresh production can still rule the dance.
