CONTINUATION RIDDIM produced by PENTHOUSE RECORDS 2006
Continuation Overview
Penthouse Records, a major name in reggae, stands behind the one drop rhythm on the Continuation Riddim. Since the late 1980s, Penthouse has been known for producing high-quality roots and dancehall music, and has worked with some of the biggest names in the genre. The label is famous for its crisp sound and for helping to shape modern reggae. On the Continuation Riddim, three respected artists bring their own style to the project. Jack Radics delivers “It Nuff But It Tuff.” Radics is well known for his hit “No Matter” with Shaggy, which reached charts in Europe and helped him gain international attention. Jahmali steps in with “Road Block,” adding his signature conscious lyrics. Jahmali is recognized for his album “El Shaddai,” which has become a favorite among roots reggae fans. Warrior King rounds out the trio with “Its Been A Long Time.” Warrior King is best known for the song “Virtuous Woman,” which brought him worldwide acclaim and helped establish his career. The Continuation Riddim, released in 2006, fits right into the roots reggae revival of that time. The production by Penthouse Records uses a classic foundation sound with a heavy bassline, making it popular both on the radio and in sound system sets. The artists and producer together create a strong, uplifting reggae experience.
