In 2010, when bashment soca was really tightening its grip on the Carnival circuit, Condem landed with a sharp, party-first feel that sat comfortably between Barbados and the wider Caribbean dancefloor. The riddim is tied to Peter Coppin, and its best-known cut became Lil Rick’s “Go Down, ” a tune that helped push the rhythm into heavy rotation; here, Alison Hinds’ “Baddest Wine” and Beenie Man’s “Swagga Dance” give the project real star power. Hypa Dawg keeps the energy rolling with “Go Down, ” while Timeka Marshall and Skinny Fabulous close it out with “Whining Pro, ” so the sequence moves like a compact set of escalating road-ready cuts rather than a loose pile of singles.
